Source: Daily Graphic Ghana - The Tamale Airport has reopened to domestic traffic after it shut down following a cloudy harmattan weather conditions.

The management of the airport on Thursday, December 3, this year canceled all domestic flights to and from the airport in order to prevent any unforeseen occurrences.

The Wa Airport is to be completed for commercial passenger operations next year, said Finance Minister Seth Terkper at his presentation of the 2016 Budget and Economic Policy of government delivered to Parliament last week.

Source: Daily Graphic Ghana - Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has taken delivery of two Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) machines for use at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

After being neglected since 1995 as a modern airport, the Bolgatanga Airport which according to many would transform the Upper East Region when completed has been abandoned after attempts by previous governments to rehabilitate it.
President John Dramani Mahama in 2013 visited the site and promised to work on it.

Source: B&FT Ghana - The contruction of a regional airport at Ho, capital of the Volta Region, is expected to boost tourism in a region endowed with so many tourists attraction. The potential of the region to attract a large number of in-country and foreign tourists is not in doubt.
Perhaps after the Central Region, it is the second-most endowed region in terms of tourism sites --- waterfalls, forests, animal sanctuaries among others.

Source: B&FT - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and South African bank ABSA have held talks with management of the Ghana Airports Company (GACL) to provide a US$150million loan facility for construction of the proposed Ho and WA airports.

Mr. Twumasi Ankrah-Selby, Chief Director of the Ministry of Transport said: "Management of GACL just returned from South Africa to conclude arrangement for the additional US$150million, which looks favourable. ABSA and AfDB are to provide the funds".
